Young Lagos entrepreneurs provide meals to vulnerable residents

In response to current economic difficulties, a group of young entrepreneurs affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ikeja, Lagos, has launched a feeding programme to support vulnerable community members.

The initiative, driven by a commitment to social responsibility, aims to alleviate food insecurity and provide nourishment to those in need. Over 820 individuals benefitted from the programme, receiving a variety of meals including jollof rice, white rice, fried rice, Chinese spaghetti, and various soups.

“This programme reflects our dedication to making a positive impact on our community and addressing pressing social needs,” the group stated in a press release. The initiative aligns with the RCCG’s emphasis on Christian social responsibility, which encourages acts of love and compassion to uplift individuals and communities.

The press release further highlighted the programme’s alignment with the RCCG’s mission to fulfil societal needs. It is described as “a monthly effort to spread hope and nourishment within the community, demonstrably impacting the lives of individuals and families.”

The programme was spearheaded by Pastor Bisi Akande, Provincial Youth Pastor of Youth Province 1, alongside Pastors Femi and Life Oyewunmi, Shola and Derayo Oladejo, and Leke and Titilope Adeboye.
