Alternative Bank Supports Rural Economic Growth in Katsina State

The Katsina State government has partnered with The Alternative Bank to boost rural economies through innovative financial solutions aimed at empowering local businesses and promoting sustainable development across the state.

As The Alternative Bank embarks on expanding operations by launching its first Katsina branch, the financial institution has received an official state endorsement, marking a major milestone in its goal to support economic growth in rural communities.

Emphasising the pressing need to alleviate poverty in rural areas, Governor Dikko Radda urged the bank to collaborate with the state government’s poverty reduction efforts. Represented by his Special Adviser on Banking, Malik Anas, the governor voiced confidence in The Alternative Bank’s potential for success in the Katsina region.

“Enhancing the growth and livelihoods of our rural people is a key objective. We seek the cooperation of The Alternative Bank to advance this goal. We stand ready to provide the necessary state support to the bank to forge ahead and spur economic development in Katsina State as well as Nigeria,” said Anas.

Echoing a warm welcome, the Emir of Katsina Abdulmumin Usman expressed optimism in the bank’s plans, cementing a cooperative relationship between the bank and Katsina communities.

Reaffirming the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion, Executive Director Garba Mohammed said efficient, technology-driven services will aim to facilitate customer and national growth regardless of economic status.

“As a non-interest bank, we promise loyal, prompt, and technologically advanced services to promote financial empowerment for all customers, including rural communities and businesses. When our customers prosper, our bank prospers, and so does Nigeria,” said Mohammed.
