How to Start living a Better Life and Sustain it!

The first thing to do to start living a better life is to decide to start living a great life.
Life can be a beautiful journey if you decide to make it so. It can be a terrible nightmare if you just live without certain choices.
Some of the choices I recommend for you to start living a better life and to continue at it are:


  1. Let go of the Past:
    Make a conscious effort to only learn from your past and move on. Don’t ever make the mistake of dwelling in your past mistakes or achievements.
  2. Understand where you are in your life’s journey:
    You have to do self-evaluation at major points in your life. At those points, you have to ask yourself fundamental questions like, do I always meet my targets? Do I like carrying grudges? How emotionally matured am I? And several other questions like that. You know yourself and you have to be honest with yourself.
  3. Make amends:
    Yes, once you are through with the self-evaluation; you make amends. You decide to easily forgive and let go of your anger. You decide to always accept responsibilities, to admit when you are wrong and apologize, to become a good listener, to be more polite to people and to sincerely respect people and all that.
  4. Set goals for yourself and discipline yourself to meet those goals:
    Here, you have to set specific goals for yourself and ensure you meet those goals. For instance, if you’re the kind of person that is always late on every appointments or meetings, you tell yourself to always be punctual on every appointments or meetings and ensure you keep to it. If you always find it difficult to say I’m sorry when you should do so, you make up your mind to change that and be as quick as possible to say that you are sorry any time there is need for that.
  5. Live intentionally:
    Now that you’ve known the direction you want to go in life, start living towards that direction. You can even create events that can make you live the way you want to live. For instance, if you discover that you are not always grateful to people; you can decide to change that and start acting the way you want. For instance, you can start by giving someone else a gift, and still go ahead to thank the person for accepting the gift from you. And, that will go a long way to start shaping you into the person of your dream.
